From Script to Screen: How Our two bilingual 8th Grade Classes Became a Film Team

For one exciting week, our school turned into a real film set. The project took place in the language building of our school, where we also filmed. During this week, we learned about the many different jobs, materials and steps that all work together to create a film.

In the first two days, we were introduced to different types of shots, jobs and tasks on set. We started writing our script and soon chose our roles, including the behind-the-scenes jobs.

On the third day, we made a plan of where to film each scene and which effects to use. The actors started daily voice and face exercises. Then we finally began filming.

The following two days were similar: exercises, filming and, at the end of the day, planning the next steps.

All of us will always remember what we learned about filmmaking, teamwork and communication. In our opinion, these are important skills which will be useful for other projects.
